Faraday Future (Unveiling Jan 3) Prototype EV Beats Bentley, Tesla and Ferrari [Official Video]

Faraday Future beats Bentley, Ferrari and Tesla in a drag race. New electric SUV unveiling at CES 2017 on January 3, 2017

Electric vehicle startup Faraday Future recently published a teaser video on its official YouTube channel that shows its prototype SUV beating a Bentley Bentayga, a Tesla Model X P100D Ludicrous and a Ferrari 488 GTB at a circuit in Irwindale, CA

In the video, Faraday Future’s VP Propulsion Engineering Peter Savagian talks about how the company gradually brought the car’s 0-60 mph time down from 4 seconds to 3.4 seconds to “somewhere below 3”, and the video shows exactly how that fared against the other three well-known models.

Still shrouded in its now-iconic black tarpaulin cover, the yet unnamed Faraday Future prototype SUV is shown racing to the finish line ahead of its three competitors in separate test races. Featured video is at the end of this article.

Of course, 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds is not a record by any standards. The Tesla Model S P90D with the upgraded battery pack can already clock 2.5 seconds as of the last public run, and there are cars that can do sub-2.5 seconds, like the 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder, which goes from 0-60 mph in a blurry but eardrum-shattering 2.3 seconds.

But the really exciting part about this teaser video from Faraday Future, however, is the fact that this display of acceleration is by no means its peak capacity.

“Our software provides the competitive advantage that others don’t have…there’s more.” is FF’s only clue to the real power that this car can deliver.

The car itself is expected to be unveiled next month at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017. The event – MEDIA DAY 1: Faraday Future Reveal Event *INVITE ONLY* – is being held at The Pavilions in the World Market Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
