New Faraday Future EV to be Quicker than Tesla Model S P100D? [Videos]

Faraday Future quicker than Tesla Model S P100D; new camera mirror showcased

Faraday Future is fast approaching the January 3 unveiling of its first ever electric vehicle. From what we’ve seen so far, the SUV uses advanced software to get more and more torque from the motor.

After beating several other cars in a race of acceleration, Faraday Future’s new EV was recently pitted against a monster of a car – The Tesla Model S P100D, which is known to be able to go from 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds. A video shows the FF SUV crossing the finish line first.

Here’s the video teaser that Faraday Future posted on its YouTube channel:

But there’s more torque where that came from, as Faraday Future keeps boasting. And that’s not all. Faraday Future is also expected to unveil its mirrorless cars that use camera mirrors instead of traditional reflective mirrors.

Camera mirrors are already in the process of being approved in countries around the world. Japan already allows them, having approved mirrorless cars earlier this year. Europe is expected to approve them next, and the United States will ratify them in 2018. So, it’s likely that Faraday Future could be looking at a mass rollout of this tech in 2018 models of its EVs.

Here’s a video that shows the camera mirror from Faraday Future.

Camera mirrors have several advantages. They can be adjusted to nearly any light or weather condition, they can provide a much wider angle of vision, effectively eliminating that irritating “blind spot” that causes so many fender-benders each year, and they’re smaller and lighter than mirrors so drag can actually be reduced.

It looks like the company is all set to deliver a stunning presentation on January 3 at a press event that is part of CES 2017. We’ll report everything from that event as soon as the company unveils their first mass-production version of the Faraday Future electric vehicle.
