Amazon Prime Now One-Hour Delivery Reaches Milwaukee

Prime Now launches in Milwaukee

Amazon has been on a Prime Now rollout spree, and the one-hour delivery service available exclusively for Amazon Prime members was made available to Milwaukee residents today.

Earlier this year, Prime Now added New Seasons Market to its list, allowing Seattle customers to shop for fresh, organic and local products from New Seasons Market. Right after that Amazon tied up with local stores in the San Francisco Bay Area to add beauty supplies, pet products and groceries to its one- and two-hour Prime Now delivery program.

Today, Milwaukee has joined that list, and if you have Amazon Alexa on an Echo, Dot or Tap device, you order from the service using voice commands.

“Not only does Prime Now offer customers convenient delivery of tens of thousands of items, the service is really about giving time back to Prime members to do the things they want,” said Stephenie Landry, vice president of Prime Now worldwide. “Sometimes you don’t have time to make it to the store or maybe you just don’t want to. Prime Now is your one-stop shop for everything from cereal to pet food to an Amazon Echo all delivered right to your door with free two-hour delivery.”

Amazon Prime Now was launched in Manhattan in December 2014, and has already expanded its reach to 30 cities across the United States, with tens of thousands of items covered under the free 2-hour delivery program.

“Prime Now delivers from early morning to late evening 7 days a week. For most Prime Now orders, you can schedule your delivery window during checkout and choose FREE 2-hour delivery or 1-hour delivery in select cities for $7.99. For restaurant orders only, delivery is FREE for a limited time, and orders are delivered within 1 hour of the time you place your order.”Amazon Prime Now

With every city added to the fold, Amazon gets that much closer to cracking the grocery delivery market. There’s still a long way to go considering there are at least 100 cities in the U.S. with populations greater than 200,000.

Amazon is rapidly going down that list, expanding its 2-hour delivery capabilities along the way. Not only will it help fill the infrastructure and logistics gaps, but also give Amazon more leverage in the $600 billion market in the United States.
