Google Search Just Got a Lot Better with this Simple Shortcuts Feature

Google constantly keeps tweaking Google Search, but we use the search service so much that we hardly ever notice how things have changed over the years. Google yesterday announced that it is introducing shortcuts on the Google App for Android and iOS, and Google.com on Mobile web.

A quick tap on the shortcut gives us information that would have otherwise taken a little typing – or speaking – to get to. For example, you can tap on the entertainment shortcut and see what’s running at the local movie theater, or find what to watch on TV.

“When you’re curious about nearby lunch options or outdoor dining for your weekend getaway, the eat & drink shortcut is your local scout. Access nearby dining options, explore recommendations and stay updated on the dining scene in your neighborhood. It’s the easiest way to uncover nearby must-try spots while you’re out and about.

Similarly on sports, whether you love basketball, hockey or football, now you don’t need to type anything when you want the latest scores. Just tap into game times, scores and team news, so you never miss a play. You can customize your experience for the teams you cheer for—or against—whether it’s the playoffs or a regular season game.”

For now, Google says that only US users will be able to see the new update, but we are sure that the rest of world will soon get access to the new Google Search feature. It brings search results to our fingertips (or finger taps, if you will) in an organized, easy-to-view way, and it will go a long way in increasing user engagement on the biggest search platform in the world: Google Search.
