Apple Cuts iPad Pro, iPhone SE Price at iPhone 7 Launch

iPhone or iPad Frozen Screen Problem and Ways to Fix a Stuck Screen

I don’t blame you if you missed many of the announcements at the iPhone 7 launch earlier this week. Obviously, the stars of the show were iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch series 2, but there were many under-the-radar changes that were announces, and I’ve covered them all here.

iPad Pro Price Cut

You’re lucky if you’ve waiting until now to buy an iPad Pro, because the top-end 256GB models have been slashed by a full $100.

The 12.9-inch WiFi variant is now $999 against the older price of $1099, and the 9.7-inch WiFi model is now $799 instead of $899. For the Cellular + WiFi options, the larger screen iPad Pro is $1129 instead of $1229, while the smaller 9.7-inch Pro is $929 instead of $1029.

Except for the 32GB base models, everything has been cut by either $50 or $100. Here’s a full price list for iPad Pro and all other models, courtesy MacRumors:

iPhone SE Price Cut

The 16GB variant of iPhone SE is still available for the same $399, but the 64GB option is now on sale for $449 instead of $499. And that brings us to one of the more important annoucements that you may have missed.

32GB is Now the Base Model

For all future iPhones, there won’t be a 16GB option. Base models will start at 32GB, and higher-priced devices will go directly to 128GB and 256GB. That’s good news for people who only want the entry-level model but find that 16GB just isn’t enough for the kind of apps you need or the digital media you want to save on your device.

Wireless Beats with W1 Chip

You might have seen the preview of the upcoming AirPods, but there are also three models of wireless Beats earphones in the works. The Beats X has a cool feature that magnetically holds the earpieces together, so that and the tether around your neck will make sure they don’t fall off. No release date has been announced, but we did dig up the retail price for the new earphones – $150 a pair.

We’ll also soon see PowerBeats3 very soon at $200, and the Solo3 is already in stores at $300.

According to Apple, the Bluetooth connectivity on these earphones is supposed to have a high level of audio integrity, meaning you won’t lose clarity when using them. That’s been a major concern for a lot of people, including Apple Co-founder Steve Wozniak, who last week voiced his concerns about Apple doing away with the 3.5mm jack.

Also, in case you lose the free EarPods that come with both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you can get replacements for $9.

No Gold Apple Watch Edition

The $10,000 to $17,000 super-premium Apple Watch variant doesn’t look like it’s going to make an appearance again. Instead, Apple has introduced a namesake model, the ceramic Apple Watch Edition, which retails at $1249 for the 38mm model and $1299 for the 42mm version.

There were several other announcements that most people missed, so here they are:

New color options (jet black) on the 128GB and 256GB iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Depth-of-field capability on the iPhone 7 Plus dual camera needs a software update that’s only coming out “later this year”, according to Apple.

Apple Watch Nike+ can be pre-ordered starting today, but will only ship out at the end of October.

MacOS Sierra being launched as a free update on September 20. Siri will now be on-board.

iWork apps will get collaborative functionality so Pages, Numbers, etc. can now be shared and worked on in real-time. Of course, Google has had this for years, but this is a first for Apple.

iOS 10 launching on September 13 – just four days from now. It’s already in public beta version 6, but this will be the stable release.

Looks like there’s quite a bit that people may have missed at the iPhone 7 launch, but hopefully we caught everything here.
