The OnePlus 3T was launched on November 22 to the U.S. market just in time for Black Friday, which is tomorrow, November 25, 2016. The Chinese smartphone maker expects to have the phones available to order in the United Kingdom on Monday, November 28 – a day that has come to be known as Cyber Monday in the United States.
The OnePlus 3T is unique in that it has a lot of features and functionality that’s been brought in from user suggestions and feedback for the prior model, OnePlus 3. That phone is now being discontinued, but both models now have the Android 7.0 Nougat update as of November 22.
In case you haven’t received a notification yet, just go to your phone’s settings under software updates. You will need to be enrolled in the Android beta program to receive the update on both the 3 and the 3T.
OnePlus 3T Features
The OnePlus 3T has a 3,400 mAh battery, supports the USB Type-C connector, and comes with Dash Charge, a trademarked technology that gives you a whole day’s charge in just 30 minutes. The 6GB RAM will give you all the processing power you need, as will the Qualcomm SnapDragon 821 processor that’s only available on newer Android phones. The full metal unibody makes for great looks, and the 16MP rear and front cameras make sure you get the best photos whether it’s a long shot or a selfie.
Based on feedback from the beta program, the new OxygenOS has also been considerably improved. The new version is said to be faster, cleaner and more customizable than earlier versions.
The OnePlus 3T is currently available in Gunmetal finish in two variants – 32GB and 128GB – but the company says they’re also shortly launching a 64GB Soft Gold edition after the initial release.
Starting price (for the 32GB variant) for the OnePlus 3T is USD 439 / EUR 439 / GBP 399.
