Samsung Note 7 Probe Results Coming this Month from Samsung Electronics

Note 7 probe results to be revealed this month

A report just published by the JoongAng Ilbo newspaper revealed that Samsung will make its findings on the Galaxy Note 7 probe public this month. The Note 7 was subject to much criticism and scrutiny by the authorities before Samsung was forced to pull it off the shelves and stop production on the device last year.

In October, Samsung said that it would thoroughly investigate the device’s malfunctions, and hinted that multiple factors could be at play that caused devices to spontaneously emit smoke, catch fire and even explode.

At the time, Samsung also said it could take a $5.1 billion hit on revenues just from the Note 7 fiasco, but we’ll have to wait and see what the full impact has been. There’s still pending litigation around the Note 7 issues, so the full extent of damage won’t be immediately calculable.

For now, Samsung seems ready to tell all, and pacify investors, consumers and the media about the real issues behind the Note 7’s failure.
