Luca Todesco iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Code Released to GitHub, Yet Incomplete

Preparing for an iOS 10.2 jailbreak

Italian hacker – sorry, security researcher – Luca Todesco has just posted the source code for an iOS 10.2 jailbreak on GitHub, but it appears to be incomplete, per the description.

Although one Reddit user seems to have found a way to get the Yalu iOS 10.2 jailbreak to work, it is reportedly very unstable at this point.

If you’ve been following our jailbreak reports, you’ll know that Todesco promised to include support for iOS 10.2 as part of his original Yalu iOS 10.1 – iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak when it was in its early beta. He’s apparently done that, but at this point it seems to be yet another beta, and could very well be unstable, as described by Redditor drake90001:

Just need the correct offsets and off you go. rootvnode is the harder one as it has never been posted, you must find yourself.

It’s very likely that Todesco will follow up with a compiled version of the iOS 10.2 jailbreak, since only the source code is available now. But on the flip side, he seems to be very frustrated with the jailbreak community as a whole. Here’s what he tweeted:

PSA: I will stop all public iOS research after I drop that 10.2 thing. The idiocy of the jailbreak community is too much to handle for me.

Meanwhile, here’s the link to his source code for the jailbreak.

We’ll keep you posted on the fully compiled jailbreak as soon as it drops. Hopefully, it won’t be too long a wait.
