There is a lot of information floating around the Internet about Google’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL launch, which is just a few months away. Reports say the smaller version will be made by HTC and the larger one by LG. The smaller Pixel 2 is said to resemble the original handset and will have a 4.97-inch screen with a more basic 1080p resolution, while the larger model Pixel 2 will be developed and made by the team at LG, with a huge 5.99-inch screen gracing the nearly bezel-less front.
The larger Pixel 2 model is categorized as a premium device with a higher-end design and much slimmer bezel that reminds us that most smartphones of the future probably won’t have a bezel at all.
The Google Pixel 2 will also sport a more energy-efficient processor, which would mean the introduction of an ‘always-on mode’ does make sense for the new Pixel phones. Feature-wise, the new Pixel 2s will be joining Samsung’s premium devices and their Always-On Display.
XDA Developers claims Google will add a second speaker to the larger Pixel 2, making for a stereo audio setup.
While the original Pixels lacked in water resistance, the upcoming Pixel 2 smartphone is said to have this feature, according to 9to5Google report.
Google Pixels are already known for their awesome cameras, and I am sure everyone is excited to see the improved version on the Pixel 2 models.
All the recent updates are around the software. Yes, the Pixel 2 will come with the latest version of Android, Android O. Of note is the fact that, unlike other Android devices, updates to Android O will first come to the Pixel 2.
Looks like there’s some genuinely useful stuff that’s reserved for future Pixel 2 owners, but we’ll have to wait for the release to get the real update.
Pixel buyers can relax with their photos and videos backup with Google’s cloud service. The device itself comes with either 32GB or 128GB of storage, but without microSD card support. The shots and recordings are stored at full quality on the cloud, so you have got nothing to lose by erasing from the local storage.
The final version of Android O is expected to be shipped in August, while the Google Pixel 2 series is expected to hit the market in late September or early October.
