Disney Unveils first Star Wars-inspired Land Model, Currently on Display at 2017 D23 Expo

Star Wars Land Walt Disney Parks and Resort

Over the weekend, Disney is showcasing its very first Star Wars-inspired land model, which will be on display at the 2017 D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The Star Wars land model is the first of its kind and features all the elements of a new planet – a far-out trading post and the gateway into Wild Space.

It’s not just a static display. Guests will find themselves in the thick of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Visitors can also control the Millennium Falcon and take it on a customized mission.

The construction sites for the new Star Wars Land attractions is about 14 acres each, and construction has been going on for a while. Although Disney is previewing the lands at the expo, the attractions aren’t due to open until 2019. That means this is probably your last chance to get an up-close look at what you can expect. Either that or wait two years before you can actually visit the sites.
