Nokia 8 Leak Shows Carl Zeiss Logo Absent, Sparks Off Speculation

Nokia 8

HMD Global is going to launch Nokia 8 on August 16, 2017, with a new color variant. Thanks to Slashleaks for posting the real images of Nokia 8 in Copper Gold. However, this image does not have the Zeiss logo that earlier reports talked about.

The earlier report stated that HMD Global had partnered with Carl Zeiss, a company known for its high-end photographic lenses, to bring out a really great camera phone. Also, it will be the first Android phone featuring a Carl Zeiss lens.

Now, the new image leak without the Zeiss logo has sparked off speculations around whether or not the Nokia 8 and Nokia 9 will be featuring Carl Zeiss lenses.

Some of the specifications leaked so far suggest that Nokia 8 will have a QHD screen and will have a 5.3-inch one using 2.5D curved glass. A dual lens camera is looking very likely and 13MP would make sense because that’s in line with most flagship smartphone cameras this year. Below the screen, there is a home button housing a fingerprint scanner.

It will be powered by Snapdragon 835 and will also feature Dual-Lens Zeiss camera, which will be paired with dual LED flash. Though nothing is clear on the partnership, obviously, mainly based on the recent image leak not having the Zeiss logo. The configuration will be 4 GB and 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, and the device will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Some source says that the device will have a dual-SIM card slot and single SIM slot options.

Nokia 8 is said to be a mid-range smartphone priced at USD 549 or 599.

There is no concrete information given by the company on Nokia 8, but we have a fair idea through the renders about what specs the device might flaunt.

Nokia 9, the true premier device, will be the next upcoming smartphone that the company will focus on.
