New Photo Leak Emerges as LG V30 Gears Up for Month-end Launch

LG V30 debut Germany

The LG V30 launch is around the corner, but that hasn’t stopped leaks from pouring through. The most recent image leak gives a little more insight into the flagship device from LG.

LG V30 latest image leak

Evan Blass tweeted that the new image leaked has revealed quite a few more details about the device. The front side of the phone is similar to the flagship G6, and the sides look very much like the Samsung Galaxy S8. The device comes with very narrow bezels on all sides. The back of the handset is not very clear, and it looks like polished metal, glass or plastic; it’s difficult to confirm from this image alone.

The image also shows the silver model’s features: the dual camera set up for taking wide-angle photos and a fingerprint sensor that doubles as a wake button. The LG V30 features a P-OLED FullVision display and the camera’s interface. The phone is said to come with a slight curve on the front and back glass, making it more comfortable to use. And the camera will have a f/1.6 camera aperture – the best we’ve seen yet on a phone.

Some of the information that we’ve gathered through the images leaked so far: the LG V30 will be smaller than last year’s device, the V20, which sported a large 6-inch display but with wider bezels, hence the larger footprint. The new device will come with curved edges but it is not clear if it is of plastic OLED panel or glass. Also, rumors reveal that the device will come with a floating bar for quick access, in place of the second screen. The device is expected to support HDR10, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which incorporates shatter-resistance technology, will protect the screen.

As mentioned earlier, the LG V30 will sport cameras with f/1.6 apertures, while most smartphones in the market have f/2.0 and f/2.2 apertures. This is a big advantage, because the lower the f-number, the better the image exposure.

The LG V30 will be officially announced on August 31 at IFA 2017 in Germany. We have pretty much covered all aspects of the device based on multiple leaks, photos and renders, and a few by the company itself – the exact features of the device will be confirmed only when it is unboxed at the end of the month.
