The Story:
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is ready to unveil the highly anticipated big-rig Tesla semi truck on Thursday this week in Los Angeles, said Musk via his preferred media channel, Twitter.
Important Because:
-
Not many thought Tesla would venture so quickly into the world of trucking considering the massive challenges it already faces with Model 3 production and deliveries.
-
The truck reveal could support Tesla’s recently-hammered stock price after production issues limited Model 3 units to 260, far lower than the estimated 1,500 for the quarter.
-
The launch of a Tesla truck will provide the much needed morale boost, since a futuristic truck could potentially change the landscape of the freight shipping and commercial land transportation industry.
