The Relay app:
Once the app is downloaded, all the driver needs to do is to pre-register their load and get gate passes delivered to their smartphone. No more waiting because once you are at the gate you simply scan your gate pass and check in.
Amazon has even built designated Amazon Relay Lanes to provide exclusive access to drivers with digital gate passes.
The Benefit:
Even at first glance it looks like the Relay app could be a major time-saver for truck drivers. Amazon would rather have them on the road hauling stuff instead of waiting in lines because, for retailers like Amazon, time is money.
