The game was only officially released earlier today, but the backlash of angry gamers coming out against EA’s in-game monetization of the new Star Wars Battlefront II video game has already forced the company to turn it off and publish an apology:

The game was made live for EA Access and Origin Access subscribers on November 9, and discontent has been mounting to a crescendo that has finally forced the company to rescind on the additional monetization front for in-game purchases.
Based on consumer reaction, Bank of America Merrill Lynch is now telling investors to lower their financial expectations for the new Star Wars Battlefront II.
