ARA San Juan submarine may have sent several satellite messages: New report

An Argentinian submarine, the ARA San Juan, went missing three days ago with 44 souls on board, and is yet to be found.

Last seen in the San Jorge Gulf off the coast of the South American nation, near the Patagonian region, the navy has lost all contact with the sub and is still searching for the vessel by sea and air.

The submarine was supposed to reach its home of Mar del Plata on Sunday, and recent reports suggest that the navy detected what it supposed were at least seven satellite messages originating from the sub after it went missing, but none of the messages were ever received.

The Argentinian navy is now attempting to verify whether the messages did, in fact, come from the San Juan, and whether the vessel was underwater or at the surface when it went missing.
