Peter Thiel, powerful tech investor and current Facebook board member, has parted ways with startup incubator Y Combinator in the capacity of part-time partner.
It’s not clear why Thiel and Y Combinator have ended their relationship, but Thiel has always been a contentious figure within tech circles for his early support of Donald Trump and for bankrolling Hulk-Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker.
Hi @sama and @ycombinator when did Peter Thiel randomly become “no longer affiliated with YC?”
I thought you weren’t going to cut ties? What changed?
Why has the press not covered this yet?
So many questions! ?@Recode @TechCrunch @Techmeme @businessinsider pic.twitter.com/jx0OZDWsol
