Trump on UCLA basketball players previously detained in China: “I should have left them there”

The China incident doesn’t seem to have bothered the father of at least one of the three UCLA basketball players detained in China earlier this month on suspicion of shoplifting.

LaVar Ball, father of DiAngelo, according to President Donald Trump, “is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal.” “I should have left them in jail.”

The three players were released by Chinese authorities after Trump reportedly intervened with Chinese President Xi Jinping on their behalf.

Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!

One wonders how the president even has time to trump-et about trivialities such as this, especially in public. Isn’t the most powerful man in the world also supposed to be one of the busiest – and the bigger man in this case?
