Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe’s replaced by former vice-president Emmerson Mnangawa as ruling party leader

Robert’s Mugabe’s 30-year stint as the President of Zimbabwe could finally be coming to an end as Zanu-PF appoints former vice-president Emmerson Mnangawa to replace the 93-year-old statesman as the leader of the ruling party.

His wife, Grace Mugabe, has been expelled from the party.

After the army intervened in the running of the country this Tuesday and widespread demonstrations across the nation against Mugabe’s rule, the Zanu-PF Central Committee has, just a few minutes ago, removed Mugabe as party leader.

Mugabe is still the President of Zimbabwe.
