Son’s face shames FaceID security on Mom’s iPhone X – Video

Ammar Malik is only 10, but he successfully bypassed a security feature on iPhone X that Apple said was their most secure biometric tech ever. Nope, he’s not a hacking prodigy or anything, it’s just that he looks like his mother.

Malik’s parents were obviously not amused when their son picked up his mom’s phone, looked at it for a bit and just happened to unlock FaceID.

To be fair, Apple did say when it revealed iPhone X that the one in a million false positive rate for FaceID could be compromised when two people with similar DNA try to use it. This mother-son duo have proved that the feature becomes moot even when a similar-looking family member tries to unlock iPhone X using the FaceID feature.
