Sexual misconduct review leads to Matt Lauer’s termination from “Today” on NBC News

Matt Lauer, 20-year veteran news anchor for “Today” show on NBC News, has been let go this morning after a review following a sexual misconduct allegation against him by a female colleague.

In a memo to NBC News employees, chairman Andrew Lack stated that this was the first such complaint received against Lauer, but that it was a “clear violation of our company’s standards” and that there was “reason to believe” that the incident may not have been an isolated one.

Lauer is the last (for now) in a growing line of now-infamous celebrities that have been dropped like hot potatoes following sexual misconduct and related allegations against them.
