Trump’s shocking announcement instigates intifada by terrorist group Hamas

A day after President Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel despite multiple warnings by state leaders and global organizations, Gaza City-based terrorist group Hamas has called for a Palestinian intifada or uprising against Israel.

The head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in a speech in Gaza City, said: This Zionist policy supported by the US cannot be confronted unless we ignite a new intifada.”

Through Wednesday night and Thursday morning, thousands of Palestinians in the Hamas-occupied Gaza Strip demonstrated by burning Israeli and American flags, chanting “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.”

Rioters outside Ramallah targeted Israeli cars with Molotov cocktails and stones in the West Bank village of Rantis. In the West Bank, the PLO organized a protest strike, shutting down the entire region. Large marches were planned in Palestinian cities at noon local time.

Haniyeh seeks a united front on the matter, and has called for quick reconciliation with the Palestinian Authority president Abbas’s Fatah party.

The Hamas leader also called on all Islamic and Arab states to “cut off economic and political ties with the US embassy and expel American ambassadors to cripple” the Jerusalem decision.
