Vodafone’s new youth brand VOXI aims for endless fun on social media

Vodafone is spreading its wings with the introduction of VOXI. It’s a new mobile phone plan provider, launched and powered by the mobile network giant, specifically aimed at under-25-year-olds.

Along with including unlimited calls and text messages, VOXI offers endless data for use on social and chat apps. These include Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitter and Viber, though these may change later.

The brand’s ‘endless data’ promise applies to all of these apps, as long as there’s data left on an existing plan. Otherwise, the data allowance pauses until more is added. What’s more, there are no bills to deal with and all plans last for 30 days and can be opted-out of at any time.

From research carried out by VOXI, it was found that 16-25 year olds spend roughly about two months a year on Facebook, and check Instagram just under 20 times a day.

And with twitchy fingers can come a high price for data use, but that’s where VOXI is looking to bridge the gap. Next, VOXI will be adding video and music streaming passes to allow for endless data for apps and websites such as Spotify, Tidal, Netflix and more.

Dan Lambrou, Head of VOXI, said: “Why should young people make do with the same mobile plans as everyone else when they use their phones differently and often can’t access the best deals? We’ve worked with hundreds of people aged 25 and under, and have really listened to them. We created VOXI, a transparent new mobile service that gives our audience a platform to connect to the things that matter to them, whatever they’re into.”

Ever eager to connect with its audience, VOXI partnered with 60 young creatives to help create and launch it. Ranging from film makers to illustrators, the ‘VOXI Creators’ have co-produced all of the brand’s advertising, products and marketing.

VOXI SIMs can now be ordered for free from the website, without needing a credit check or to sign a contract. Existing Vodafone customers can use a VOXI SIM in their phones; non-customers will have to make sure their phone is unlocked. Users will also have the benefit of endless data roaming across the EU, including non-member countries such as Norway, Turkey and Switzerland.
