Sexual allegations against Trump resurface, 3 woman call on Congress to investigate claims

At least three of several women who brought forward allegations of sexual misconduct against then-Presidential-candidate Donald Trump have once again asserted their claims.

In an interview with NBC’s Meghyn Kelly and a news conference shortly after in Manhattan, the three women retold their stories. At the press conference they called for Congress to investigate their claims.

Moving swiftly, the White House refuted the claims in a statement on Monday morning and a news conference in the afternoon. The statement read as follows:

“These false claims, totally disputed in most cases by eyewitness accounts, were addressed at length during last year’s campaign, and the American people voiced their judgment by delivering a decisive victory. The timing and absurdity of these false claims speaks volumes, and the publicity tour that has begun only further confirms the political motives behind them.”

The refreshed accusations come on the eve of a very important special election – the run for a US Senate seat from Alabama between another prolifically accused Republican, Roy Moore, and Democrat Doug Jones.

Sources from inside the White House said that the administration wasn’t particularly alarmed, in part because they’re simply old allegations resurfacing.

However, the effects of a sustained attack on Trump using the sexual misconduct angle could extract a high political price.
