Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York is now the fourth Senator to openly call for Trump’s resignation based on the allegations brought against him by multiple women at the time of the presidential campaign last year.
Over the weekend two Democratic Senators, Cory Booker of New Jersey and Jeff Merkley of Oregon, also called for Trump to resign. Late on Monday that call was echoed by Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon in a tweet:
These women are right. If @realDonaldTrump won’t resign, Congress must investigate allegations by many, many women that he sexually assaulted and harassed them. No one is above the law. https://t.co/ySP9DVUgLP

In an exclusive interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Gillibrand said:
“President Trump has committed assault, according to these women, and those are very credible allegations of misconduct and criminal activity, and he should be fully investigated and he should resign.
“These allegations are credible; they are numerous. I’ve heard these women’s testimony, and many of them are heartbreaking.
“If he does not “immediately resign,” Congress “should have appropriate investigations of his behavior and hold him accountable.”
Gillibrand is one of the lead voices in Congress actively speaking out against sexual assault in the armed forces.
