Purple might be the new black for the 2018 Samsung Galaxy S9, according to a report from SamMobile.
The purple hue was originally slated for the Galaxy S8 from this year, but that obviously didn’t make it into production. 2018 might be the year Samsung gives us an aubergine-tinged Galaxy S phone.
Samsung will release the Gold, Black and Blue options, but the Purple/Violet option is going to be an extra color added to the line up.
Of course, until something comes directly from the company, this is just a rumor. That said, however, Samsung has been trying to capture small niches of market with appealing colors like Blue Coral and Burgundy.
The new purple color for the Galaxy S9 will most probably be tested in a specific market before being rolled out more widely.
