Magic Leap finally unveils smart glasses after $1.9B and 6 years spent on the project

The highly secretive startup Magic Leap has finally unveiled its smart glasses on its website, where a webpage was updated showing the much-awaited product that’s been six years in the making and already sucked up $1.9 billion in investments.

The company is calling it the Magic Leap One “Creator Edition”, and the augmented reality glasses has several sensors on the front. It connects to a belt-worn processing pack with a wire, and a wireless hand controller is also seen in the teaser image.

Despite showing very little until now in terms of hard evidence, the company is valued at around $6 billion.

There’s still no word on an exact date when the Lightwear will hit the market, or even if there’s actually a working prototype of what will finally make it into production. The product is expected to be available sometime in 2018.
