Posters of Meryl Streep and Harvey Weinstein with “She Knew” across it have been making the rounds in LA after Rose McGowan tweeted over the weekend that the veteran actress was aware of Weinstein’s predatory behavior.
The Harvey Weinstein accusations led to a deluge of sexual allegations against top Hollywood and business personalities across America, and several others have been caught in the crossfire, including iconic filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
Meryl Streep is the latest celebrity to be caught in the melee, with McGowan calling the actress out for her professional relationship with Weinstein.
The posters appeared in footage broadcast by CBS Los Angeles, and show Streep with Weinstein, with Streep’s eyes symbolically covered with the words “She Knew.”

The clash originated after word got out that several Hollywood actresses, including Streep, would be wearing black to the Golden Globe awards on January 7 in a silent protest against sexual harassment of women.
That led to McGowan tweeting a now-deleted post saying: “actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa.”
McGowan has since apologized, in part, for the tweeted tirade:
The Marchesa line was beneath me and I’m sorry for that. Seeing that picture of Alyssa Milano with GC has ignited something in me that I can’t quite articulate. There is no map for this road I’m on, I will fuck up. Peace be with you, go with Goddess.

The deletion (by McGowan) of the original tweet came after a retaliatory tweet from her friend Amber Tamblyn, and a statement from Meryl Streep.
