Windows 10 is one of the most used operating systems on the market. Microsoft has been improving Windows 10 since the launch day in order to offer a better user experience. Last month, Microsoft officially announced the Windows 10’s April 2018 update after months of beta testing.
The April 2018 update introduces a number of new features and changes while fixing bugs and errors found in previous versions. One of the highlights of the Windows 10’s April 2018 update lies in Timeline. Basically, Timeline replaces the Task View button that allows you to see all the apps running on Windows. This is a great feature as it allows you to switch between opening apps.
Timeline received a wide welcome from users and tech experts worldwide. However, the feature is only available for Windows 10-based PCs. However, things are going to change in the coming months. Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Timeline feature is coming to Android and iOS later this year.
It remains unknown what Timeline will look like when it officially hits Android and iOS this year. Tech experts say that Microsoft has a lot of work to do to make sure that it runs smoothly on other platforms. Microsoft claims that Timeline will come pre-loaded in the Edge app on Apple’s iOS, while it acts as a part of the Microsoft Launcher.
The company says that it will be sharing more details on Timeline at its upcoming event later this month. With Timeline support, iPhone and Android owners will be able to quickly view what apps are running and also what apps and activities they have used on their devices. The coolest part is that Microsoft will create an ecosystem for Timeline. In other words, you will be able to edit your Word document on PC and finish what you left off on your phone.
Sources say that Microsoft will be struggling to integrate Timeline into the iOS due to Apple’s restrictions. Microsoft has been adding new features to Windows in recent months. The company today announced a new feature called Your Phone which allows you to see the most important information about your phone on PC.
