Apple 6.1 inch iPhone model to come with A10 chip at launch

It’s been more than 11 years since Apple first debuted the iPhone model. The original iPhone was met with a wide welcome, with praise directed at its innovative features and stunning design. However, the device saw a slow sales performance due to its high price tag. However, things changed so much when Apple announced the iPhone 3G.

The iPhone 3G was among the best-selling iPhone models on the market. Back in 2010, the iPhone 4 debuted with a revolutionary design and innovative changes. The iPhone 4 is still the best iPhone model Apple has ever released to the market. The device sports a glass-back design which was a fan-favorite.

Last year, Apple moved away from its traditional aluminum design, instead, re-adopting an all-glass design. Apple’s move received mostly positive reviews from users and tech experts worldwide. All 2017 iPhone models are among the most popular smartphones on the market. In the first quarter of the year, Apple shipped more than 16 million iPhone X units, helping Apple grab the number one position on the market.

Apple is expected to ship more than iPhone models later this year when it announces its new iPhones. At this year’s September event, we are expecting to see the unveiling of three new iPhone models, one of which includes a 6.1 inch iPhone model. Sources claim that the 6.1-inch model will belong to the mid-range segment.

According to reports, the upcoming 6.1 inch iPhone model will be manufactured in India, which helps Apple lower the price of its iPhone and cut down on transport costs. This makes sense as Apple is opening up a new manufacturing facility in the country. Besides, the Cupertino company is planning to open new stores in India in an attempt to boost sales performance.

Apple is struggling to sell its smartphones in India as it is facing huge competition from Chinese firms. Xiaomi, Huawei, and Oppo now dominate the Indian smartphone market, mainly thanks to their affordable smartphones with crazy specs.

In terms of specs, sources claim that the upcoming 6.1 inch iPhone model will be powered by an A10 processor, just like the iPhone 7. The A10 chip features a hexa-core graphics chip, offering smooth performance when it comes to playing heavy games.

When it comes to the display, the 6.1-inch model will stick to an LCD panel. This makes sense seeing that the phone will mainly target mid-range smartphone segment this year. Besides, the phone will come with 3GB of RAM, a single camera setup, and Face ID. The coolest part is that the device will feature wireless charging functionality and dual-SIM functionality.

If this is the case, the 6.1 inch iPhone will be the first iPhone model with support for the dual-sim card. Apart from a new 6.1 inch iPhone model, Apple is expected to launch two other phones including an iPhone XS and iPhone X Plus. The iPhone X Plus is rumored to feature an OLED display, better Face ID, and under-display fingerprint scanner. Apple has not specified when we are seeing the new iPhone. Let’s wait and see.
