NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Coming in Week of March 5 [Promo Video]

NVIDIA launches GeForce GTX 1080 Ti video card

Earlier this week at NVIDIA’s GDC event, the company unveiled its next generation video card, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Unfortunately, the secret wasn’t well-protected, and we got an early preview last week because of a leak from the company’s own website. We now know a bit more about this mind-numbingly advanced processor.

The Ti name is not new, as you might know. It’s been part of the GTX family since 2013, when GTX 700 was launched. But with each Pascal generation of Titan, including the GP102 that is on the new GeForce video card, NVIDIA is bringing more processing speed to consumer GPUs.

So, now, the GP102 is finally here and NVIDIA is saying that the new Titan product shows a jump of at least 35% in performance – their biggest yet. That means there are now two segments of GPU owners that have access to a significantly enhanced experience with the GTX 1080 Ti: one is the cutting-edge consumer that’s always on the latest GPU, the other being the GTX 980 owner that didn’t want to upgrade to the GTX 1080.

As such, NVIDIA should ideally see a spike in demand for the new video card, purely based on its increased performance.

The card will be available starting next week, and is expected to be priced at $699, which is similar to Founders GTX 1080 and $50 more than the GTX 980 Ti.
