After a harrowing 11 hours, power has been fully restored at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, one of the world’s busiest airline hubs.
At least 1,500 flights were grounded, stranding thousands of passengers, some left onboard their craft on the tarmac for several hours.
Delta, which cancelled 900 flights on Sunday and 300 on Monday said that its schedule would resume normalcy on Monday afternoon.
Georgia Power, which provides power to the airport, issued an official statement once power was up and running for all critical services including concourses and terminals.
