Big iPhone 8 Leaks Revealed by Top Apple iPhone Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo

iPhone 8 leaks from Ming-Chi Kuo

Ming-Chi Kuo is probably known more for his predictions and analysis of iPhones and other Apple products than any other person on earth. Often the most quoted personality when it comes to iPhone leaks and predictions, Ming-Chi Kuo has yet again come out with information about the iPhone. This time, it’s about the 2017 iPhone that’s being called iPhone 8 – in the absence of any information from the company itself.

The iPhone 8 is supposedly coming out in three variants, as opposed to the traditional two variants for iPhone 6, 6S and 7, as well as most previous models.

In addition, Kuo also says there may be a refresh on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus for next year. But the worst news is that there may not be an iPhone SE refresh next year, presumably to make way for the next – and possibly the best ever – smartphone from Apple: iPhone 8.

Two of the three iPhone 8 variants will retain the TFT-LCD screen that can be seen on current iPhone models, and will feature 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays. The third, however, is expected to be come with an OLED screen. One analyst from Barclays says that it may come in a much bigger 5.8-inch screen – a first for iPhones. The OLED model and the larger of the two TFT-LCD models could also come with dual cameras, as seen on iPhone 7 Plus this year.

Apple is trying to bring in new technologies that will support virtual reality applications in the future, so the dual camera feature might become a standard starting this year – at least on the top-end models of iPhone.

In addition, they’re experimenting quite a bit with OLED technology, having already brought the experience into the 2016 MacBook Pro that was launched last month.

The 2017 iPhone will mark the 10th anniversary of the hallmark product from Apple, which quickly replaced the Mac as the most sought-after Apple product from its line of electronic devices. Ten years on, the iPhone still retains that title, having fortified its position solidly year after year, and generating a worldwide phenomenon that helped foster the smartphone industry.

We’ll be keeping close tabs on any new developments on the iPhone 8, so we invite you to read the following articles to keep up with news on what is clearly becoming the most highly anticipated iPhone ever.
