The Lenovo N22 Chromebook for students is now retailing at Walmart from $129, a massive price cut from the list price of $200. As Chromebooks go, this one’s a bit unique, with its own built-in handle that allows you to carry it like a little attaché case (briefcase) and a 1-megapixel swivel camera at the top that can be spun around 180 degrees vertically. The integrated mic rotates along with the camera so you can capture sound from the same direction as well.
It’s a Chromebook so, naturally, you can’t do any resource-intensive tasks that would push the 1.6GHz Celeron N3050 processor beyond its limits, but it’s great for browsing, word processing, spreadsheets and those types of tasks.
The 11.6-inch 720p LCD screen is pretty decent, as is the 4GBDDR3L SDRAM with 16GB eMMC drive. That means about 8 hours or so of HD video, or nearly 5000 songs.
Battery life is quite good at 10.5 hours. In fact, a lot of Chromebooks have trouble getting past 9 hours, so that’s a big benefit. It’s also got a slim profile and weighs 2.8 lbs.
Walmart’s deal for the Lenovo N22 Chromebook is a $129 price tag, and a further pick up discount if you’re willing to head to the store to get it. Two-day shipping is free, which is a feature Walmart launched not too long ago to compete with Amazon’s long-standing free two-day shipping offer.
While the Lenovo N22 Chromebook might not have been your first choice of Chromebooks at the regular $200 price, at the new $129 from Walmart, it’s a killer deal. Even if you’re not a student, you can buy and keep one as a backup for your primary device. These prices only come every so often.
