Moto Z2 Play or Something Else Launching at the Motorola Event in NYC?

Lenovo's Motorola commits to 12 moto mods per year; two new moto mods now available - a car dock and a battery pack

Motorola is marked to unveil its Moto new series soon. Mark your calendar for July 25 for the big invite – ‘Motorola is launching a mysterious new smartphone’ in New York. Motorola has sent invites to the press that has a poster of a girl holding a Moto Z series of smartphone, suggesting Moto Z2 launch. The invite message –  ‘you won’t want to miss this’, and later comes the #hellomotoworld with the event details.

The device in the poster looks tricky to identify which Moto is on display. The speculation is that the phone in the poster may or may not be the one launching on July 25.

The speculation is whether Motorola will be launching either Moto Z2 Force or the Moto X4 or both, unclear for now.

The Moto Z2 Play and Moto C are already available in Brazil since last month.

The Moto Z2 device is likely to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display and Android Nougat 7.1.1, powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. The phone will be compatible with Moto Mods and will feature a dual rear camera with one sensor bearing 12-megapixel resolutions and the front selfie snapper sporting a 5-megapixel resolution.

Moto Z2 Force is slightly upgraded from the Moto Z Force, with the embedded fingerprint scanner present under the display. The camera has a dual sensor snapper and will come with one RGB and the other Monochrome.

The Moto X4 will come with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM, and dual rear cameras. The smartphone is expected to come with IP68 certification making it water and dust resistant.

New Mods expected to feature in the Moto Z2 Force were unveiled during a Ghana event – 360-degree camera Mod, Direct RV Mods, and DSLR Mod. The Mods unveiled along with the Moto Z2 smartphone are currently available in Ghana but hasn’t reached any other market so far.
