New Kensington cop killer named, driver of SUV in custody on unrelated drug charge

29-year-old Rahmael Sal Holt has been named as the suspect in the fatal shooting of a New Kensington police officer Brian Shaw.

The driver of the SUV that was pulled over by Shaw has been arrested in a separate case, but Holt is still at large.

The award amount of $40,000 for “information that leads to the location and arrest of Rahmail Sal Holt” has just been added to by the citizens of the New Kensington area as well as FOP Lodge 23, and is now $43,500.

Earlier today police obtained a warrant to search the house of Holt’s girlfriend in Natrona Heights. Police have advised that Holt is armed and dangerous, and have asked people to call 911 with any new information.

Chief James Klein of the New Kensington police said:

“We will find you, we will arrest you and we will prosecute you so you will be held accountable for what has occurred.”
