Mueller accepts guilty plea from Flynn in exchange for cooperation with the investigations

Special counsel Robert S. Mueller III has accepted a guilty plea from former national security adviser Michael Flynn regarding making false statements to federal investigators about his conversations with former Russian ambassador to the United States, Sergei Kislyak.

Charges were filed on November 30 against Flynn for falsely stating that he did not ask Kislyak “to refrain from escalating the situation” after the U.S. announced sanctions against Russia on December 29, 2016.

Flynn’s guilty plea has been accepted in exchange for cooperation with the ongoing investigations into Russian meddling during the 2016 Presidential Election.

Including former national policy adviser George Papadopoulos, two top advisers to the President have now pled guilty in exchange for information that could prove disastrous for other Trump aides.

One adviser, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the information, said: “We don’t know really what is going on. Who’s it going to implicate? What are they going to say?”

Mueller’s progress in the last six months since his appointment as special counsel has now left top White House advisers in a state of panic. The big question on everyone’s mind now is: will this go all the way to the top?
