2018 iPhone models will see a strong sales performance this year

We are now so close to the unveiling of the new iPhone models. Apple has a tradition of launching new iPhone models at its September event. Last year, the Cupertino company announced three iPhone models including iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. The iPhone X marks the first Apple’s smartphone with an OLED display panel.

In reality, iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus have seen a strong sales performance since the launch day. In the first three months of 2018, the Cupertino firm sold more than 16 million iPhone X units. Apple recently confirmed that the iPhone X remains the most popular iPhone model on the market.

Apple is facing a lot of competition in the market this year. Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Note 9 with a lot of exciting features and changes. One such feature lies in a Bluetooth-enabled S-Pen, allowing you to control your phone or interact with apps. Tech experts say that Apple does not want to get left behind this year.

In reality, Apple has not specified when it will announce its new iPhone models. However, sources claim that Apple will hold its traditional fall event on September 12, with the keynote kicking off at 10 A.M at the Steve Jobs Theater. Last year, September 12 was also applied to iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus.

According to the latest reports, three new iPhone models will be debuted later next month as Apple needs more time to work on new smartphones. The reason behind this decision is that Apple will launch two OLED-enabled iPhone models this year, so the company needs more suppliers.

The Cupertino firm has been looking for more suppliers of components for iPhone models in recent years. Samsung Display is now supplying Apple with OLED panels for iPhone models, while TSMC is in charge of manufacturing mobile chips. Last week, sources claimed that the Taiwanese firm will be Apple’s sole supplier of mobile chips until 2020.

This year’s iPhone models are expected to feature a number of design changes and system improvements. According to tech experts, 2018 iPhone models will be more successful than its predecessors. Specifically, Apple will ship more than 20 million iPhone models during the first weeks of availability, beating the record set by the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Sources claim that Apple suppliers are preparing to ship around 75 million iPhone units by the end of the year. That’s the same volume we heard in last year’s rumors prior to the launch of new iPhone models.

Last year, iPhone X was expected to break Apple’s sales record. However, the device did not have a good start at launch mainly thanks to its high price tag. This year, things will change as Apple will report a strong sales performance.

Apple’s new iPhone models are expected to hit retail stores in September. However, the cheaper iPhone model will not be ready until October. It remains unknown why Apple delays the release of the upcoming device.
